Fill The Frame
Alex was assigned to shoot fill the frame photography which is when you capture your subject in a way that it occupies a significant portion or the entire frame. This technique eliminates distractions and emphasizes the main subject, creating a more impactful and focused image. It's like zooming in on your subject to showcase its details and make it the center of attention in your photo. Instead of Alex capturing his subject from a distance, he moved in closer to emphasize and highlight the detail of his main subject. Alex accomplished this assignment and was able to find interesting photos to fill the frame in his own house. One of Alex's favorite is the concord grapes on the vine. He loves the shallow depth of field to really fill in the frame more with the grapes and how detailed the vines are with the colorful contrast of dark grapes to the bright green vines. His second favorite image is the bright red and green christmas trees covered in flakes of snow. He likes the focus being in the middle and how there are multiple layers to the picture as well as the tree trunk and pinecone adding to the picture too to make a christmas feel scenery.
